Bacterium Rhizobium Legumes

Leghemoglobin - The oxygen carrier leghemoglobin (also legoglobin) is a hemoprotein found in the nitrogen-fixing root nodules of leguminous plants. It is produced by legumes in response to the roots being infected by the nitrogen-fixing bacterium, Rhizobium, as part of the symbiotic interaction between plant and bacterium: roots uninfected with Rhizobium do not synthesise leghemoglobin.

Sinorhizobium meliloti - Sinorhizobium meliloti is a nitrogen-fixing bacterium (rhizobia). It forms a symbiotic relationship with legumes from the genera Medicago, Melilotus and Trigonella, including model legume Medicago truncatula.

Providencia (bacterium) - Urinanalysis was positive for leukocyte esterase and nitrates. A Gram-stained smear of urine showed gram-negative rods and polymorphonuclear leukocytes.

Proteus (bacterium) - In biology, Proteus is a genus of Gram-negative Proteobacteria, which includes pathogens responsible for many human urinary tract infections. Species include Proteus vulgaris, Proteus mirabilis.

Grain Legumes: Evolution and Genetic Resources by J. Smartt, X
A wide-ranging survey of all the major grain legumes from their evolution to their potential for further development bacterium rhizobium legumes and improvement as economically important food crops. The book covers the changes that have occurred in the course of plant domestication leading to our present pulse crops bacterium rhizobium legumes and oilseed legume crops. The author also discusses the benefits to be gained from evaluation bacterium rhizobium legumes and improvement of grain legume genetic resources. This is a suitable book for advanced undergraduate courses in plant breeding bacterium rhizobium legumes and postgraduate courses in genetic resource conservation, collection bacterium rhizobium legumes and management.

2005. Environmental Microbiology: A Laboratory Manual is designed to meet the diverse requirements of upper division and graduate-level laboratory sessions in environmental microbiology. Experiments in the second section cover assays of microbial pathogens--bacteria, viruses, and protozoan parasites--used in food and water quality control as well as an exercise in applied bioremediation of contaminants in water. The first section includes experiments on the soil as a habitat for microorganisms, and introduces the main types of soil microorganisms, how they interact with the soil, and the techniques used in their analysis. The final section on biotechnology includes applications of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the student and instructor* Each experiment is self-contained and includes theoretical, practical, and pedagogical material.* New edition incorporates new experiments and the latest techniques * Designed for maximum versatility and ease of use for both the student and instructor, each experiment is self-contained and includes theoretical, practical, and pedagogical material. For personal use only. The final section on biotechnology includes applications of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the detection of bacteria and the analyses used to study them. The book is organized into three thematic sections: Soil Microbiology, Water Microbiology, and Environmental Biotechnology. Description not available.
